Keto Friendly Pepper, Egg and Cheese Sandwich - 5 Minute Recipe

This is a 5-minute meal/snack requested by some of you on the groups.

If you’re following a no-grain dietary approach, you could use different alternatives for the bun-part of an egg sandwich. Some people use buns that are made of nut flour, others use lettuce or some other green vegetables. In this case I use bell peppers and I cook the omelet in lard. The recipe is very simple and the image should be self-explanatory.

The Ingredients

2-3 green (or yellow) bell peppers – 150g (~5.3 oz)
3 medium sized eggs
100g (3.5 oz) of cheese
1 tsp (~5g) lard

To increase the fat content of this, you could add some slices of bacon, a keto-friendly bun made from nut flour (I never use those) instead of the bell peppers, some olives, avocado (slices), and/or some more cheese.

If you want to increase the carbohydrate and fiber content you could add more plant foods such as: tomatoes, cucumber, radishes, etc. You can play with the ingredients to make it more appealing/pleasurable to your own needs.

Like many of the recipes/meals that I post on the blog, this is a proof of concept; the key take-away is that you can modify/tune it as much as you want.
