Ultimate guide to overcoming your fear of failure

overcome fear of failure

When Thomas Watson (the founder of IBM) was asked what he thinks is the key to success, his answer was: “To succeed you have to double your failure rate”.

Now, what does that mean?

It simply means that you have to keep moving forward to achieving your goals, no matter the adversities that come along.

Most of the people consider that success is only for the chosen ones and that failing is miserable.

That is not true because there are tons of examples throughout history where humble men an women challenged adversities and changed their misfortune into a lifetime of continuous success.

Can you do that?

Of course you can. You do not need money, amazing looks or impressive skills at something. You will get them as you move along.

The first and most important thing that you need is the proper mental attitude. After developing the appropriate mind-set you will be able to jump on your pathway to success and start building good fortune.

Thomas Edison is probably the biggest inventor in history. However, few people know that he is also the biggest failure of all times. He tried for thousands of times to get the perfect combination for the light bulb.

Did he stop? If he would have stopped, now we would probably still be living at the light of candles and lamps.

Theodore Roosevelt once said that “it is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed”.

Let’s get to the structure of success and failure.

Success is simply achieving your goals.
To achieve your goals, you first need to set them.
Once you have clearly established your goals, you start following them.
Failure appears in one form or another. (This is where most people quit)
If you overcome this first failure and keep moving, then you are on the right track.
Another failure gets in your way. (This is where 95% of the people give up).
Fighting the failure and learning from your past experiences will put you back on track.
Now you have the appropriate mind set to succeed.
Other set-backs that may get in your way will simply fade away as they appear.
Now you are on the top 5% of successful people in the world.
It is only a matter of time until you achieve your goals.

So, what steps should you follow when fear gets in your way?

1. Be clear of where you want to get (be clear about your goals).

If you are at all times focused on what you want to achieve, you will always find the strength to get up and keep moving if failure gets in your way.

2. View failure as a contribution to your ultimate success.

Now, this may be tricky but you have to challenge your mind a little bit. Most of the people are programmed to give-up when failure comes around.

Smart people know that every failure builds experience, increases motivation and boosts self confidence.

Why don’t you do that as well? You have nothing to lose.

3. Always keep moving forward.

This is the philosophy of success. It is known as perseverance and it is probably one of the most important characteristic that most of the people do not have.

Perseverance is to keep moving forward no matter what!

Here’s what Napoleon Hill says in his amazing book Think and Grow Rich:

“Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do.”

Never give up is what Donald Trump’s philosophy of success is. Use this guide and land among the 5% of the most successful people of all time.
