15 Compounds with Effect on Lifespan

A crowd-funded project on the topic of longevity was successfully funded on June 16, 2015. The scope of the project was to create a longevity cookbook. They raised $57,770. In March 2016, the team published the first chapter of the book for free. It details a list of compounds that have been research and could be used to increase lifespan. In short:

  1. Bisphosphonates – for bone mass health
  2. Rapamycin – targeting mTOR pathway
  3. Ubiquinone
  4. Metformin – better insulin sensitivity
  5. Aspirin – inhibition of COX1 and COX2 to reduce pain and inflammation
  6. Ibuprofen
  7. Acarbose
  8. 17-a-estradiol
  9. NDGA (Nordihydroguaiaretic acid)
  10. STACs – Sirtuin Activating Compounds
  11. Alagebrium (ALT-711)
  12. Lithium
  13. Glucosamine
  14. C60 Fullerenes
  15. Telomerase Activators
